With the holidays in full swing I wanted to share a few of my favorite traditions that I am so excited to begin and continue (as we have already started a few) this year. Growing up we had traditions such as matching pajamas on Christmas Eve, participating in the Christmas Eve Pageant, and opening one gift on Christmas Eve. My goal is to spread the magic throughout the entirety of the month, while keeping Christmas Eve and Christmas special for my kids.
🎄 Christmas Tree Traditions. “Planting” a pinecone on November 30th so when the boys wake up on December 1st their pinecone magically grows into a Christmas tree. That evening we will decorate the tree and listen to Christmas music.
🎁 Holiday Gift Box Traditions. On December 1st and Christmas Eve the boys will get a gift box. I typically don’t go too crazy with these, but I want the boys to wear their holiday pjs all season long, not just on Christmas eve. So for their December 1st box they will get holiday pjs, a fun snack, a book, and maybe a small toy (I’ll be sharing this on my social media and blog tomorrow!) For Christmas Eve they’ll get a matching pair of PJs (in a size up so they can hopefully wear them next year), and a few other small treats (keep an eye out for ideas for this as well).
😴 Matching Outfits and Pajamas. Obviously matching family PJs are a big theme here, so while my boys are young and are excited to participate I love putting them in matching pjs and holiday outfits throughout the season! Some of my favorite retailers to find these are PatPat and LazyOne.
