The Eric Carle museum in Amherst, MA is a wonderful place to explore with your baby, toddler, or kid! If they are fans of books like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, or From Head to Toe (to name a few) they’ll love seeing their favorite characters! When you’re there make sure to check out all of the kid friendly exhibits.

- Art Studio. The art studio at the Eric Carle museum has a number of different materials and ways to create art! You are also able to display your art for other museum-goers to enjoy. They also change projects up so you are able to enjoy new projects every few weeks if you live in the area!
- Bobbie’s Meadow. This is a 100 year old Apple Orchard you are able to stroll about during the museums hours. It is wheelchair and stroller accessible and has native wildflowers and grasses. It also has places to sit for reading, a picnic, or just relaxing outside. There are also interactive pieces for kids to enjoy, the boys loved playing the drums and large xylophone.
- Reading Library. The library is open when the museum is open, so young ones can enjoy some of their favorite books! They also offer different programs from story times, therapy dogs, etc.
- Art Galleries. The art galleries showcase different picture book artists, themes, and styles. They also have some of their favorite picture book characters from Eric Carle’s books. There are also interactive pieces throughout and books that keep your kids happy and occupied. Also throughout the museum there are different activities to keep the kids entertained.
- Bookshop. Of course no museum would be complete without a place where your kids can find their favorite books or toys to bring home! We loved this little shop because it has many different artists, but also has many of your kids favorite Eric Carle creations.
